FAT = NECESSARY FOR ABSORPTION AND INSULATION
Even to the nerves of our bodies. Fat is not a bad word! And we NEED THEM! some of our vitamins are "fat soluble" and that means, they are only metabolized by our bodies WITH Fat. So there are GOOD FATS and Bad Fats... and they are very easy to remember.
If its heated, like in a fry pan or such, it is now a BAD FAT, even if it was a good fat before it was heated. Why? Because the heat, changes the molecular structure of the oil and it literally makes it "rancid".
Oils are best eaten in their Natural State, right from the bottle and are best stored in a DARK GLASS Bottle (no not plastic!) yes, dark to keep the light out, which will also spoil your oil. And in a dark place, like under the cabinet and away from heat. Use them on Salads and Sauces directly from the bottle to your plate and avoid the heating them on the stove or microwave.
Fish Oils are best if they are eaten, lol!! And what I mean by that is, the FISH or Seafood that has them in it. If you can't, then talk to your medical health practitioner about supplementation.
CARBS = FUEL
Are so necessary to the body, the body uses them for Fuel and literally, food to feed things like Muscles and our Brain! lol!! These were once referred to as Simple Carbs and Complex Carbs, simple being digested quickly and Complex taking more time to digest. The BEST sources for Carbs are also found in "natural state" foods.
Today there is an "advertising gimmick" going on all around us... you will see cereals for example that are LOADED with garbage and yet, it says "Whole Grains" on the boxes.
Words to avoid when you are looking at any "grain" product, whether its cereal or breads, is the word "Enriched".
Another thing you will notice about sources of Good Carbs, they are usually a GREAT source of Fiber. Which is HUGE when you are working out, it will sustain your appetite, making you feel full longer.
So when you are creating a list of "Best Foods" to pick from, look for Carbs that are Rich in Fiber.

PROTEINS = BUILDING BLOCKS
They either HAVE a face or come from something that has a face. The exception to the rule is Beans, Legumes and some grains. They are necessary for repair to the body and need to be in balance with Carbs and Fats.
And some of us metabolize certain proteins better than others.

If we are NOT eating a balance from each of these groups, we CAN get thin eating just Protein and the simple carbs like lettuce (which is green water basically) and tomatoes... but, we will be sickly on the inside. Dieing to get thin is OUT... eating to LIVE is in!
There are a few people I have been watching on FB that say they are doing a "lifestyle change" and have lost huge amounts of weight in a relatively short period of time.
Unless you are on "The Biggest Loser" and are 100% Supervised in your exercise and dietary in-take.... it is NOT safe to lose 4 or 5 lbs a week!!! Again, there is an Exception to the rule... if you are SEVERELY obese and start watching what you are eating, getting accountable for your intake and were eating 3-4000 calories a day, THEN you can see big drops but, that will only be in the beginning and most of it, believe it or not, will be WATER.
So these people on FB that say they are doing a "lifestyle change" and in the next breath say, "I don't eat bread or grains" etc... and are living on Salads, Cheeses and a Cracker bread here and there... DON'T BE DECEIVED!!!!!!
THESE PEOPLE ARE ON A DIET!!! AND IT WON'T WORK FOR LIFE!!!
When they fall, they are going to fall hard.
Carbs don't abuse people!! PEOPLE abuse FOOD! *Waving my in the air*
I don't any more ♥
