NEW FOOD!!! And Recipe Ideas Galore!!! ♥

Frequently, I will wonder around the grocery stores to see if there are any "new food" items.... and to check prices, labels and whatever else I can find to look at lol!

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I came across a REALLY NEW Item that had me thrilled to try it.

I was NOT disappointed in the least!

Angel Hair Tofu Shirataki

Now before you scrunch up your nose going "eeeeeeeeeeeww"... TRY IT!!!  And when you turn over the package to find out you CAN EAT THE WHOLE PACKAGE AND ITS ONLY 40, yes, 40 Calories!!!! Whoohoooo!! BUT!!! A serving is 1/2 the package, which is 20 Calories  ♥

It also comes in Fettuccine and Spaghetti!!

The Recipes are ENDLESS!!!  *My mind is racing!! lol!*

When I used it, I put it in a fine strainer, fully expecting it to fall apart.  I followed the directions and rinsed it under cold water for a few minutes, rotating and flipping it around to get the water in there.  Then I put it in a bowl plate and cooked it for 1 minute in the Microwave per the Instructions.

It NEVER fell apart and acted just like pasta!! Only without all the Calories!!!

These are of course, Gluten Free and they were great!!  Because they are made with Tofu, they will take on the flavor of whatever you serve them in or with.  Seasonings, sauces etc...

Here they are cooked at the table.....

Cooked for 1 Minute in the Microwave
I then added a Tbsp of Coconut Oil, and 1 tsp of Garlic Puree, 1/2 tsp of Sweet Basil and a whack of Veggies that I like, some Shrimp and some Thin Veal strips and called it dinner!!!

My Finished Meal ♥

I think these have a LOT of potential of a number of dishes...

Olive Oil mixed with Coconut Oil and Garlic with some Oregano and a pinch of Sea Salt with Shrimp!!! Yummy!!

I think that anywhere I been using Angel Hair Pasta OR Fettuccine will now have these in the recipes!

These have ZERO Fat, 3g of Carbs, 15mg of Sodium, 2g of Fiber and NO SUGAR!!! yaaaaay!!

Ingredients: Filtered Water, Tofu (Soybeans, Calcium Sulfate, Glucono Delta Lactone), Yam Flour, Calcium Hydroxide.

I picked up my package at the local Sobey's Grocery Store, I am sure they are sold elsewhere in Canada and have been around for a number of years in the USA.

Enjoy!! ♥
