NEW BOOK OUT!!! Carb Lovers Diet

Today I was channel surfing the tube and came across "The Talk" with the women sitting around talking, or trying to talk over each other lol!! Its much like "The View" really... any how, they had these two ladies, the Author's of the book on talking about "The Carb Lover's Diet".

Personally, I HATE books that say DIEt in the Title... cause you are DYING to eat something you can't have!! And this book, well it appears that you can eat and lose weight but...

I have BIG Doubts about the Author's Claims.

THEY DO state that it is a lifestyle change that is needed but, the Phase 1 of the program, 1200 Calories... for some people, it is going to put your body into shut down mode!

Meaning whatever you eat, you will wear it in calories cause your body will want to do what it always has done, on LESS.

I believe most if not all foods can fit into any healthy dietary plan, including when one is controlling their caloric intake to achieve weight loss. But some of the book’s claims such as “eating pasta, bread, potato chips, and pizza will make you thin” made my eyebrows raise.

You don't eat these things to MAKE you thin!!

YOU CAN include these in a healthy dietary plan but, how many people, now be honest, can eat only 5 Lays Potato Chips?  How many people can eat a thin slice of pizza and be happy with just that?  How many can eat a couple of tablespoons of pasta or a 1/2 a slice of bread and feel satisfied?

If you were to eat the SAME things you are now, only in moderation... you MIGHT lose some weight but, you won't stick with this "program/diet" very long, that is a given!!

In order for people to achieve success, they have to FIRST be re-educated on FOOD, LABELS and be given some new Recipes and information on how to adapt OLD recipes to make them more healthy and most importantly....

THEY HAVE TO GET MOVING!!! lol!

They also said: "Resistant starch burns or melts fat.

I would like to see some serious research on this one lol!

Here's the Claim: "Nearly 200 studies on resistant starch have shown that it’s an effective weight loss aid because it’s not absorbed into the bloodstream or broken down into glucose. It also doesn’t raise blood sugar. Resistant starch has also been shown to produce fatty acids that turn on enzymes to melt belly fat, and encourages the liver to switch to a fat burning state. It also helps boost satiety to keep you feeling fuller longer—feeling satisfied and not hungry are keys to sticking to a diet.

Ok, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute here... the NEARLY (could be 150 for all we know, depends on the definition of "nearly")  Of these "nearly" how many were OVER WEIGHT?  OBESE? SEVERELY OBESE?  Diabetic?  Healthy?  Age?

There is much to be said about Statistics!

Bottom line on this book for me is... Not worth the $8... take the $8 and go get some veggies, Renee's 1/2 Fat Caesar Dressing and enjoy!!

Have a great day!
♥ GET MOVING!! :o)
