BEWARE of the Slippery Slope!

Sorry, there were no updates to the blog for a brief time, seems they were updating the site and doing scheduled maintenance.

So BEWARE of the Slippery Slope!

Which one?  You mean there's more than one!!?  Yep!


For the moment, I will just focus on this one... Journaling, Tracking and a sense of Entitlement?

I remember dealing with this with clients and then, I saw myself thinking the same thing the other day...

"You been at this for a while now, you know what your eating, you can skip this."

Ah, no I can't.  And I didn't.

When you have been journaling for a while, one must remind themselves, WHY am I journaling to begin with?
  1. To be Accountable
  2. To actually TRACK what you are eating
  3. To retrain your eyes to portion sizes
  4. To TRACK Progress that is measurable
  5. To see where you went wrong, IF you do slip
These are just a FEW of the basic reasons why a Journal is VITAL to one's success of a Lifestyle Change.

If you start to see "slippage" as I call it, you can correct it immediately!!! Instead of 5 pounds gained later! Soooooooo detrimental!

We can all have "moments" where we fall back to what is comfortable or habitual or just plain lazy... the KEY is to make sure it was only a MOMENT and not days that turn into weeks!

If you find yourself slipping, get a new page in your Journal, write down what you will eat for the NEXT DAY, this day is already behind you, so know you missed the mark, forgive yourself and move on!! don't say in a rut!!!

Focus on the goal ahead, a healthier YOU, a happier YOU, cause truthfully, and statistically NO ONE is Happy being Overweight!  You can pretend you are but, truthfully, we would rather be our Optimal Weight, Healthy and Fit!!!

I saw a program yesterday where they asked random people, some Obese and some just Over weight, randomly on the street, would you give up 10% of your income for a 10% Reduction in your weight?

Most people said YES, they would give up 10% of their income for a reduction of 10%.

Now this is interesting...

Seems with the age of Technological Advances... so have our waistlines.

If you are one of the few individuals out there who like me, are trying to make a change, trying to aim for that Optimum Healthy Lifestyle of Eating and Exercising... know that we are a minority.  Many people are turning to gimmicks, surgeries and looking for a happy pill that will melt the fat off.

Most of these "measures" don't work, as we have seen with Carly Wilson for one... you can change the body mechanics but, if you have NOT changed the body from the way it views food, from the inside out, then the "bad habits" are going to be a part of that slippery slope.

Most of us didn't become overweight or obese overnight and it certainly isn't going to melt off overnight either! *I WISH!*

Remember...

STAY ACCOUNTABLE TO YOU!!

If you do Slip, its NOT the end of the world or a brick wall to your goal, its a bump in the road, tie up your shoes, forgive yourself, don't beat yourself up about whatever you did!! Recognize it, acknowledge it and push forward!!

Watching for that "moment" where "self sabotage" can show up!! lol!
