This past 2 weeks have been insane for me and fitting in workouts were a bit of a challenge, combine this factor with a stomach issue last Monday... where my whole routine was tossed first thing in the morning and my supplements irritated my stomach BIG TIME!! I couldn't workout for a few days. And then we have the vein.
I have had a LOT of pain off and on in my upper Left leg since starting to workout, considering I broke both the foot and the femur bone, the later in a car accident in 1990... it didn't surprise me in the least and I figured it was one of "those" pains that you have to work through. Part of it might have been but, no, I have a varicose vein that is the reason behind all the pain... so I was fitted for and purchased a nice pair of support socks LOL!! Oh the joys of aging!
Not really :o)
I don't think "age" is to blame for it, more like a culmination of events.... car accident injury, gaining too much weight and becoming inactive, I think those are the factors I would point to first.

And unless you have had one of these suckers... I can't begin to tell you what the pain is like OR the pain of working OUT with these socks on... now mind you they are not "granny beige" support socks (Thank God!!!). No they have come a long way since then lol!! My chiropractor fit me with a nice athletic white knee sock... if they weren't so tight, they might be nice LOL!! But, I experienced pain from the hip down with them. LOL!! NO I am not whining... I figure, someone else might be going through a series of setbacks of sorts, curve balls tossed at you from life and need to know... you are not alone! lol!!
And now, we are back into renovations, full steam ahead!!! lol!!
The point I hope to make is that "setbacks" happen, its how WE deal with them when they do that will be a determining factor of what happens, is it a turning point, a yield sign, a stop sign or a detour sign?
So for me personally, my sign reads; "DETOUR" followed up with a "YIELD" sign... this is a detour around MY plan, of what I wanted to see/have happen and I need to go slowly ahead with "CAUTION" due to the last week of events. Not the stomach issue, that was cleared up in a few days... its the Left leg issue that has me in its grip at the moment.
There use to be an old saying, "No Pain, No Gain" and it was misapplied so much!!! There is "good" pain for gain, like in muscle growth of body building, you have to push through that kinda pain when you are in a set with weights but, pain from INJURY or ILLNESS... don't push through it, YIELD TO IT and then proceed with CAUTION.
That's what I will be doing this week :o)
I am NOT defeated by this in the least lol! Trust me, I have coached enough people through situations like this to know, this is NOT the end, I am just writing the chapter at this point differently than I thought it would be written.
