Its Weigh In Day!!! :o)

These past few weeks have been difficult AND trying, to say the least lol!!

Having an injury that is a result of my lower body being twisted, isn't something you can just say Oh well, no biggie and continue doing things the same way but, it is also NOT an opportunity to give up.  Frustration just means... "I need to find another way/solution, to working around or through an issue.  Including but, not limited to, fitting in exercise due to renovating a house and.... not quite having enough hours in a day lol!

Weighing In Tomorrow And Measurements this week! (GLUTEN FREE Recipe)

The good news is that the workouts are back on track!! The hip is settling down, between my chiropractor, therapy (mine) and ice, it seems to be doing the trick. :o)

So yesterday (Sunday) I was able to get in a 50 minute workout first thing in the morning and then later in the evening, I cut the grass, its a big yard LOL!!!

I believe I am on target at this point for the usual 2 pounds to be gone.... hope to see 3 though lol!!

Isn't that just like a woman lol!! we always want more, especially when it comes to weight loss.

I have a quick recipe for you and then I am off to work on the house and such....

Just finished my LAST workout for the evening.... we did a 5 mile family bike ride, 40 minutes and based on my current weight, that was a minimum 450 Calorie Burn... not bad at all and we had fun! lol!!

Have a GREAT Week!! Keep moving, keep eating right, stay focused!!! ♥

Painful Hip Update

Today I finally had time to go to my FAVE chiropractor and have him take a look at my hip and such...

Yep, I was right, the pain is at the insertion point in the upper hip and the release was a KILLER!!!  He worked it to the point of me grabbing at him from the pain lol!! Could have been a "bad" grab if you know what I mean, it was a reflex action lol!!

And since losing weight, I have noticed I feel "twisted" and yep, I am, he showed my daughter who was sitting behind me, I am "out of sorts" and I believe this is the reason for the IT Ban situation cause I didn't run wrong, didn't do anything wrong, stretched etc... and still ended up in this pain.

So for now, I continue as I have been, no running, no impact, use my foam roller, and do an IT Ban release type of stretch and ice it.

I CAN workout but, I need to be smart about it, I CAN do weights, seated of course, I will avoid squats and lunges and I CAN do the Elliptical.

I am also trying to be conscience of my walk, to try to twist back the other way to take the stress off of it.

Just thinking... for years I have had issues with running etc... and its been because I am "twisted" LOL!

Just call me "Twisted Sister" bwaaaahahaha!!!  :oD

Have a great weekend, keep motivated, compete with yourself to better yourself and keep moving!!! the only thing that can defeat YOU is YOU!!

You have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain!!! ♥

CREAMY Mac 'n Cheese!!! Recipe!

CREAMY MACARONI & CHEESE

An all‑time favorite "comfort food," this version of "mac 'n' cheese" is as cheesy and good as you remember it, but without the wheat and dairy.
This Recipe makes 4 servings.

Ingredients:
1 cup (4 ounces) uncooked wheat‑free elbow macaroni
2 tsp grated onion (optional)
1 cups shredded Woolwich Dairy Goat Cheddar Cheese
1 Tbsp almond oil
1 Tbsp potato starch
2 cups NON DAIRY Milk (Plain)
½ tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cook the wheat‑free macaroni according to package directions, omitting salt. Drain.

Place half of the cooked macaroni in a non-stick 1&½ quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with half of the onion and cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers.

Heat the almond oil in a small saucepan. Remove from the heat and stir in the potato starch. Add the milk slowly, stirring until smooth. Add the salt and pepper. Return the pan to the heat and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Pour the sauce over the macaroni but do not stir it. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.

Calories per Serving will depend on the choices you make! ¼ Cup IS a serving though :o)

Tuesday's Weigh In & a Recipe! (Stuffed Green Peppers)

Sorry I am a bit behind on the times here, going to post a couple of my recipes tonight to try to make up for it.

On Tuesday I weighed in HOPING to see a decent number, in spite of the fact that my hip was still bothering me, lack of workout time due to renovations... I did.

I am another 2lbs down, and nearing the 40 pounds gone mark.  I like to strive for the "round" numbers if you will lol!!

So that put me at a total weight loss thus far, as of Tuesday that is, of 36 pounds gone and not coming back!

I am struggling to be honest, with fitting time for workouts, mainly due to the end of the school year, and she had the stomach flu, which left me exhausted the next day because of broken sleep... I am out looking for taps, sink, flooring etc... and booking people to come in and give us estimates on doing some of the work for us.  Like the countertop and the flooring at this point.

BUT, I keep reminding myself, this is temporary, the interruptions and I am keeping my eating on track  :o)

Have a great week! ♥

The Agonist and The Antagonist! Nope, not in a Novel but, it is a Novel Idea in a Workout!

One of the things about "movement" (kinesiology) that I learned as a fitness professional was that there are two kinds of movement regarding Muscles and that there needs to be a "balance" in order to avoid injury or certain strains.

So why is that important to know?

OH NO!!! NOW WHAT!?

One of the most devastating set-backs you can experience is an injury that puts the breaks on your workouts.

Last weekend, I had trouble fitting in a workout, so it was late and I thought, I'll take the dog out! She loves to run! lol!

Rough Week!

Setback... its a word that carries a negative connotation with the utterance and realization of it.

However, it doesn't say, mean or imply, "the end". lol!! No it is what it is.

Italian Pasta Dinner for One ---> Recipe

I have a few friends and a few comments, that it would be nice to have some recipes that are for the individual, sooooo... here's one for the individual. ♥

New Day!

I read that statement yesterday on a status update on FB... "Today is a New Day and a New Start".

When it think about it, it only takes a second to change your mind, a second to put it into action, a second to make a plan of action... so what goes wrong, what stops people from carrying it all out?

ONE NEGATIVE THOUGHT/ACTION.

Yep, that's it.

Ready for a little Tofu?

I personally have not tried this recipe AND its NOT MINE, I found it in an old magazine from last year and it does look scrumptious!!

So I am changing a few ingredients to make it healthy... if you try it, please let me know what you think.

Thanks! ♥

What went wrong?

Today is Weigh In Day... I am actually writing this the night before but..

I had such hopes for Monday and ended up having a lousy day!! Workout wise that is..  I woke up full of energy, had a busy morning planned, had coffee, quick shower and back in the house before 8am, went to put the laundry on the line... still full of water, so 1/2 hour later, after trying everything, yep, my son destroyed my washing machine :o(

Its a long story but, bottom line, he didn't listen and it cost him.

So the fireplace guys were late as well, crossed wires and I had taken my supplements, some have to be on an empty stomach but, my workout was NOW pushed back from being started at 8am, to almost 10:45!!! And then it hit!!

The Rumbley in my tumbley as Pooh would say...  This workout is biting the dust fast, going down in flames and not much I can do about it at this point.

So I grabbed a teaspoon of peanut butter and a square of pure cocoa chocolate... hit of calories via fat and some sugar (good sugar)...

After 30 minutes on the treadmill and increasing pain!! NO I do NOT recommend anyone to try or do this... after 40 minutes of what was suppose to be my 700 Calorie Burn... I was totally spent, burnt out and needed my smoothie!

It did help but, the damage was done, my poor tummy bloating, cause I DON'T miss meals, I DON'T ignore a "Rumbley in my Tumbley", I FEED it...

So what was suppose to be an AMAZING LAST CHANCE WORKOUT... was a bust  :o(

BEST Tortillas Ever! ===> Recipe!

The Biggest reason I call these the BEST EVER is because YOU make them and that means, NO preservatives, you can use Gluten FREE Flour and they will taste great!!

Remember, only make what you want to eat that night OR for left overs the next day, that way you are not pitching food in the garbage cause it goes bad.
