I wanted to get my workout in first thing in the morning yesterday due to a packed day of things to get done and hubby is off on a biz trip again this week.
So I headed down to the basement to get my workout in... heard the door and the dogs so I came up... it was the Mailman dropping off the parts for our BBQ, which had fallen over during the Spring in a windstorm. The main handle supports had broken off. Yaaay! we can BBQ again... that is when SPRING GETS HERE! lol!! Had snow twice this week.
After opening the package, I was going to head back down to add to my workout, then my son tells me that his worker is coming 15 min later... which would be any time soon, so I figured, might as well wait to go back to working out.
So I grabbed a Protein Shake, then after the meeting, headed back down to finish what I started... not to be.
I am 20 min into my workout, my son, who is normally NOT home when I am working out, walks into the gym with the phone... I'm like, who's on the phone, he says no body but, it keeps ringing. I am a bit ticked at this point.
I explained to him... the only time you come down here is to tell me the house is on fire, the police are at the door, or there is some sort of emergency that needs my attention immediately. If the JW come to the door, tell them to come back another time, if there is a friend at the door, tell them to come in, offer them a drink, tell them I will be with them shortly. BUT NEVER come downstairs with a phone in your hand cause it rings!! If its important, they will leave a message and I can see who called and will call them back!
WORKOUT ATTEMPT #2 SHOT!
At this point, I have to head out shortly so... might as well call it a wash at this point until later tonight.
Made a Seaweed Salad with Shrimp and called it lunch!
Dinner was Pasta, Red Sauce and Chicken TVP Meatballs and a salad, serving sizes of course! And an hour later...
I gave instructions to both kids... Fire, Police, Ambulance, Emergency ONLY, otherwise DO NOT DISTURB!!! lol!!
So in total, yesterday was a 75 min workout.
So what did I find that works best? Well this is for me! Cause if you have medical conditions, this might not be good for you, check with your doctor.
I found that working out on an empty stomach, which is what they do on the biggest loser, WORKS very well for me. I don't wake up, ravaging hungry in the mornings... I have my Latte, and certain supplements that HAVE to be taken on an empty stomach, then within 2 hours, I workout for 1 hour. I also found that wearing those "sweat shorts" work as well. Man do you sweat! lol!!
A WARNING: This type of training is hard on the body. LITERALLY!! Once you have used up all the glycogen (muscle food) that is stored in the muscle, your body WILL use the fat reserves because you haven't put any food into your body. This IS PAINFUL on the muscles, in particular, the long muscles, such as Quads (front upper leg) and Hamstrings (back upper legs). And I STRONGLY advise you speak to your medical practitioner before attempting this kind of training.
I have also increased my calories, ever so slightly, equal to about one snack a day... and it seems to be working...
Working to the tune of 3 more pounds gone and a grand total of 16lbs in just over 1 month!
When I get a few more pounds down, I will started adding the before and during pictures.
One thing I constantly remind myself of...
I didn't gain all this weight in one day, it was over a period of years and menopause hitting me lol!! Pros and Cons on that one!! lol!! So... I have to keep my expectations in check that it will take the same amount of time, maybe a little less, to take it all off.
Stay focused and keep moving!!! :o)
