THE BRICK WALL

Everything has been going great!! Workout has been fitting in, getting done and seeing heart results, so I have been very pleased with the results.

The family likes the new foods, there's less "odors" in the house, if you catch my drift... so all has been on track and on target.

Then two days ago... I hit the brick wall and hard!!

Woke up, not knowing if I had a sinus infection, was I coming down with something, was I going to get a 'gift' after not seeing that for over a year!! and I just wanted to go back to bed! NO ENERGY!

I thought... If I can just get to a workout, I will probably feel better, so I will get a few carbs in me for the go... made a nice, homemade Egg White Spin-Muffin with Soy Based cheddar on a whole wheat mini soft bagel bun. I think they call them a bagel cause they have a hole in the middle, cause they are nothing LIKE a bagel! lol!

Nope, not working... Latte with a bit of extra espresso... nope... nothing is working!

Then I clued in when my "system flushed" itself... I have reached my "Toxic Day".

A day where your body needs pure water and rest... with good foods to act as "binding agents", such as brans... so that's what I did... I ate more than my usual caloric intake but, it was ALL GOOD FOODS.

When I use to work with clients, I would tell them, about your 2nd to 4th week into your Lifestyle Change, expect to feel "off" or to even get sick... its a side effect of dealing with all the things your body has stored up, when it stored all the fat we carry around.

Now one thing I have read up on as well is an "unbalanced gut" can also cause this effect after workouts. And last month, I was soooooooooo sick with a nasty virus that lasted approx. 4 weeks. Yep, the Doctor put me on Antibiotics for it.

Now the thing about Antibiotics is, it kills bacteria alright, the problem is, it doesn't discriminate between GOOD and BAD bacteria, it just kills it all.

In my journeys today at the store, I also picked up some Probiotics, the dissolvable kind to see how they work. And I will get the pills as well to ensure I get my flora back to a healthy level.

Here's what I believe is happening...

I took Antibiotics, it killed off the bacteria in the "gut", so when I am working out and sweating, we naturally get a little dehydrated, which helps the growth of unhealthy or bad bacteria in the gut... so after 2 weeks of working out and in spite of the fact of re-hydrating myself... the Healthy Flora that lives in the gut has been getting the flora kicked out of it! lol!

I did a little search on the internet and it appears, I am not alone with these "flu like" symtoms and feeling run down... they came to the same conclusion... unhealthy gut.

So this should be taken care of within a short time and I will be back on track! ♥
