A Giant Leap Forward... then 2 Steps back...

DISCLAIMER: What I am about to share is based on my own personal journey, I am not advising anyone, diagnosing anyone... I am simply sharing my ordeal and opinions regarding, myself.

In the past week, as I had mentioned earlier, I was feeling ill, no energy, like I was coming down with something but, it wouldn't fully manifest. So I assumed it was the antibiotics I had taken the previous month due to the flu.

As a result, I started on some Udo's Probiotic Advanced Formula and some Jamieson's "instant" probiotic formula supplements. After a few days of "bloating" I noticed I was feeling a bit better. But, there was some "achiness" on one side of my abdomen area.

I looked up the area on the internet and when I saw what it was, it triggered the last appt I had with the Doctor where she informed me, I have "fatty liver" spots. These appeared in an ultra sound when I had a kidney stone.

So I did some more research, seems, "they" say, you can't get rid of this once you get it, its like non-alcoholic's cirrhosis of the liver by comparison. Yet, they haven't done any serious testing or studies with supplements or herbs.

Basically, all the medical research I saw stated, there is no known cure and no known medicine to reverse the process.

So I am embarking on my own study, my own "trial" if you will because... food IS medicine to the body and if the body is toxic, then the medicine (food) can't be absorbed to help the body. You can put all the good food in you want but, if the body can't absorb or utilize it, you are paying big bucks for good food to be flushed!

The other eye-opener in this research journey was the fact that people who have this NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease)as it is referred to seem to have difficulty losing weight, due to the amount of "sugars" that continues to circulate through the body, due to poor liver function. So after a while of this circulating, the body removes it from the blood and stores it as, yep, FAT.

For me personally, out of the blue, I started to gain weight after my daughter was born... and there was a point a few years back, about 3 now, that I hit the gym and hard, determined to lose the extra pounds. I worked out 2 times a day, for an hour both times, cardio and weights and sometimes running outside. Controlled the calories in to 1200-1300 and it took me almost 3 months to lose 20lbs. Even the doctor was puzzled at the time.

I also found that people with NAFLD usually are diagnosed with a couple of other things at some point, one being high blood pressure and the other being diabetes.

I don't have either, nor do I plan on it!!

Based on the research, I found a combination of herbs and supplements, along with amino acids that are suppose to help liver function... and it says that in 2 weeks, there should be a noticeable change.

I plan on going back to see my Doctor in the next 2-3 weeks to discuss all these things with her, she is not an "old school" type of doctor (thank God!!) she is open to natural-path/homeopath medicine and supplements with caution, as there should be. Most medicines that we have, they start from herbs before they are refined.

So my advice to you, IF you see yourself in any of my comments... seek your family physician to see what might be "blocking" your path or if you have anything underlying that could be causing your problems or symptoms.

Have a great week! ♥
