LOL man if I had a dollar for every time clients had said that to me when I was actively working in the field... no, there is flavor there, the problem is "the tongue". Specifically.... YOURS.
If you check the packages of mostly everything you have in the house, you will find one common word on them SUGAR!! Anyone in the industry referred to is as "white death"... it has no health benefits, it IS addictive, oh you don't think so? lol!
Take a baby who has a clean palette when it comes to taste... if you give them puree fruits first before you give them veggies, good luck! lol! After that, they will want the junk food more than anything else.
What do you think the most common coffee is that is served at Tim Hortons? Why a Double Double of course! lol!
So if you ordered a medium double double... that's a whopping 18g of sugar which is 4 and 1/2 tsp of sugar in there!!!

Most of the clients I saw had a "white coated" tongue, now I am not a scientist but, if your tongue is coated, how much do you think the taste buds on your tongue, can actually register taste? Yes, depending on where the "coating" is and where it covers does matter... because different parts of your tongue taste the different tastes, like sweet and sour.
Salt is the other killer... people OVER salt their foods... I have known people who, without tasting what they have in front of them, grab the salt shaker and shake it!!! That's insane! lol! They are addicted to salt! and that is the taste they look for when they eat!
It takes time to adjust to the taste of REAL foods... it takes time to adjust your palette and it takes time to get rid of the Addiction!!
The good news!!!
STEVIA!
Its all natural, NOT from chemicals, the body does know what to do with it and it has no calories... and it comes in packages that you can put in your coffee or tea, so no, you don't have to get use to drinking it black lol!
My thought or suggestion would be to avoid all forms of sugar that you can for at least a month before reintroducing something sweet back into your diet. It gives you time to adjust your tongue to the new flavors or to taste the new flavors lol!!
And believe me... there is plenty of flavor to REAL food! ♥
I have recently discovered Stevia, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteFor a low cal sweetener that's all natural, it can't be beat! Aspartame, Nutrasweet, it is a slow death by chemical... not much difference between that and sugar... my opinion, it would be better to be taken out by sugar! :o)
